When a leader brings a 'complex problem' to resolve there are usually two things going on - the facts of the matter (as best we can determine) - a whole pile/mountain of beliefs, judgments, opinions, assumptions, expectations etc that are layered on top
Grab a few moments with a notebook,
On the left list FACTS and on the right THOUGHTS
(Note the side on which the 'complexity' occurs...)
Then walk away, give yourself 'headspace'
